Booking Terms

LAST UPDATED 22 JULY 2026

These are the terms for joining a SEAM Adventures group trip, written the way we'd explain them in person. SEAM organizes rider-led group trips — it is not a travel agency, a booking platform, or a commercial travel service.

How booking works

You register on a trip's registration form. No payment is taken on this website. Varun (or the trip's lead) confirms your spot personally within 48 hours and arranges the deposit. Your spot is held once the $500 deposit is paid.

Deposits & payment timeline

Every trip takes a $500 USD deposit. The balance (trip price minus $500) is due on the schedule printed on that trip's page and registration form — typically 60 days before departure. Payment is arranged directly (Zelle, Venmo, or bank transfer).

Refunds

Deposits are non-refundable once your spot is confirmed — the same policy on every trip. Your deposit goes straight into group bookings (rooms, bikes, tuk tuks) that can't be returned. If you have to cancel, we'll try to find a rider to fill your spot; if we do, we refund what we recover. Travel insurance with trip-cancellation cover is required in part for exactly this situation.

Travel insurance

Required, non-negotiable. Your policy must cover motorcycle riding as an activity (many standard policies exclude it), medical expenses, emergency evacuation, and trip cancellation.

Licenses & documents

Motorcycle trips (Thailand, Peru): a valid motorcycle license from your home country plus an International Driving Permit (IDP). Sri Lanka (tuk tuk): a regular driving license plus an IDP — no motorcycle license needed. Passport valid 6+ months beyond trip dates. Visas are your responsibility.

Vehicle damage deposit

The rental shop takes a refundable damage deposit when you pick up your bike or tuk tuk, and returns it when the vehicle comes back in good shape. Third-party vehicle insurance is included in the trip price.

Your responsibility

This is a rider-organized group trip, not a commercial travel service. Motorcycling carries inherent risk — we don't pretend otherwise. You participate at your own risk, ride within your ability, and are responsible for your own safety decisions. Each registration form asks you to acknowledge this before you join.

Questions

Anything unclear, ask before you register: seamadventures@gmail.com. We answer every message ourselves.

Written in plain language for transparency; per-trip specifics (dates, amounts, deadlines) live on each trip's page and registration form, which control if anything here differs. Not legal advice.
