01 The trip

Nan Province: the quietest paved roads in Thailand.

East from Chiang Mai into Nan Province — mountain roads with almost no traffic, traditional Tai Lue weaving villages, some of the most untouched scenery in northern Thailand. A completely different feel from the Chiang Mai loop.

We're piloting this exact route with a small friends-and-family crew in December 2026 — riding every mile before the full group does. Then it opens up: 10 spots, same CB500X, same SEAM format, a whole new corner of the country.

Arrival

Chiang Mai — Arrive, Grab Your Bike

Fly into CNX, meet the group, pick up bikes. Orientation ride, dinner in town.

Day 1

Chiang Mai → Phrae

East out of Chiang Mai. Highway then backroads through pine and teak forest. Settle in Phrae — a quiet old town.

Day 2

Phrae → Nan

Wind into Nan Province. Mountain passes, almost no traffic. Arrive in Nan city — Tai Lue temples, river views, slow pace.

Day 3

Nan — Loop Day

Day loop into the surrounding mountains. Hill-tribe villages, weaving cooperatives, viewpoints. Easy day to soak the province in.

Day 4

Nan → Doi Phu Kha

Climb into Doi Phu Kha National Park. Single-lane roads, dense forest, panoramic peaks. Possibly the quietest road in Thailand.

Day 5

Doi Phu Kha → Phayao

Down out of the park toward Phayao. Mountain lake, lakeside dinner, sunset over the water.

Day 6

Phayao → Chiang Mai

Final ride back. Drop bikes. Group dinner. Goodbyes.

06 Straight answers

The questions that matter.

Is this safe? What's the track record?

Fifteen bikes through northern Thailand in 2025 — everyone came back in one piece, zero incidents on group rides. We ride at a sane pace with a group backup plan, and both 2026 trips sold out on the strength of that first run.

How do I know this is legit?

Fair question for a stranger on the internet. The 2025 expedition ran, 2026 sold out, and the rides are documented at @seamadventures. No payment is taken on this site — you register, Varun reaches out within 48 hours, and the deposit is arranged directly. Want to talk to a past rider first? Ask in the form and we'll connect you.

What if I have to cancel?

Deposits are non-refundable once your spot is confirmed. If something changes, email Varun — the earlier we know, the more options everyone has.

07 From past riders

Rode with us before.

From our 2025 Thailand ride.

“First international ride and I didn't know what to expect. Varun had everything sorted — bikes, hotels, the roads. I just showed up and rode.”

Kriss W. Texas · Thailand 2025

“I've done organized tours before and they feel corporate — this felt like riding with friends. Big difference.”
